The continuing downturn in the global economy towards the end of 2008 presented many UK companies with the challenge of reducing costs in an attempt to secure profits or in some cases just break even. Against this pessimistic background however, Telsonic UK Limited has reported a record year with 2008 turnover exceeding expectations at 24% above target.
Quality and Diversity Aid Success
Telsonic has been present within the UK market since 1977. Since then, the comprehensive range of high quality ultrasonic products available from the company has enabled Telsonic to build up a strong and very diverse UK customer base.
The flexibility and reliability of ultrasonic technology means that it is used in an ever growing number of ways across a broad spectrum of industries. Typical applications include welding of plastic components for automotive, telecommunications and medical device manufacturers. Sonics are also used to perform cut & seal operations for the packaging industry and the ultrasonic cleaning process is being adopted by an increasing number of sectors, including health care, where the capability of the process to completely clean complex items brings many benefits. The overall performance of the company in 2008 was boosted by the sales of components for ultrasonic cleaning systems, which alone were 53% above target for the year.
As we enter what will be a challenging year, this diversity of customer base and applications will remain key factors in the ongoing success of the company.
