New fibre laser machine for cutting larger sheet

Bystronic, has extended its BySprint Fiber range of fibre laser cutting machines to include a larger model, designated 6520. It allows metal sheet measuring up to 6.5 metres by 2 metres to be processed, whereas the other two machines in the range have maximum table capacities of 4 metres by 2 metres and 3 metres by 1.5 metres respectively.

There are numerous benefits of the bigger format. Material usage can be maximised when using larger sheet, as more parts can be nested with greater efficiency so there is less material wastage. The manufacturer’s BySoft 7 process software supports users with intelligent nesting procedures.

More parts can be produced per cutting cycle before the next sheet is loaded, so productivity is raised. Additionally, the variety of applications is increased, as larger single components may be cut without having to interrupt the machine in-cycle to reposition the sheet.

As with the smaller BySprint Fiber machines, the larger 6520 model can be equipped with a 3, 4 or 6 kW fibre laser source. There is no compromise on speed, maximum simultaneous positioning of the axes being the same at 140 m/min.
