Rittal are pleased to announce that they have joined The Green Grid in support of their social responsibility commitment to lower the overall power consumption of data centres around the globe and improve energy efficiency.

The Green Grid is a consortium of leading information technology companies whose aim is to develop meaningful, platform-neutral standards, measurement methods, processes and new technologies to improve the energy efficient performance of global data centres.

Bernd Eckel, Rittal Executive Vice President of Information & Technology commented ‘A fundamental element of Rittal’s corporate values is to increase efficiency of secure voltage supplies and consumption in all our present products as well as in future developments. To show commitment to our social responsibilities we have joined the Green Grid and hope to make a valuable contribution to make information technology more environmentally responsible.’

Rittal has already been promoting green technologies for a number of years with the introduction of the RimatriX5 brand, a flexible, scaleable modular concept for data centres, which fully meets the needs of energy efficient technology. RimatriX5 consists of five system modules, rack, power, cooling, security and monitoring.
