The Process Solutions Group (PSG), which brings together expertise of four Robbins & Myers’ companies, is offering a Free Process Audit for any business looking to enhance its productivity and reduce energy consumption.
Embracing the vast reactor-lining capability of Pfaudler and Edlon, together with the extensive mixing expertise of Chemineer and the sealing solution skills of CRS, the Process Solutions Group’s Audit is designed to improve efficiency, bring about significant on-going savings - and help reduce CO2 emissions.

PSG Group Sales Manager, Neil Davies, commented: “Reactors are at the heart of a process plant, so our Process Audit provides a rare opportunity to appraise performance in such comprehensive technical detail. Reactor performance can be critical in determining final product quality and yield”.

Conducted by highly experienced personnel with a breadth of knowledge in varied reactor system applications, the PSG Audit (with confidentiality agreements as required) sees process information inputted to advanced, specially-developed in-house software to generate a tailored report with specific suggested improvements.

Davies added: “The strength of resources within the Process Solutions Group combines to deliver highly effective, single-source, integrated and innovative process solutions. At minimum, we believe we can be a major influence in reducing the soaring energy costs that are cutting profit margins for so many manufacturers”.
PSG’s Free Process Audit can examine means of energy optimisation for Mixing, Heat Transfer and Equipment developments. Energy flows are analysed in terms of mechanical and thermal energy flows; mechanical in relation to agitation and associated parts (seal & lubrication systems), whilst thermal flows are related to heat transfer between the jacket and product. Where applicable, auxiliary energies required to operate and monitor apparatus are also examined.

After assessing the process, the PSG Audit aims to identify improvements for:
1. Reduced batch times
2. Improved mixing
3. Improved Heat transfer
4. Reduced energy consumption
5. Higher product yields / improved quality
6. Reduced raw materials consumption
