Field Precision builds library of finite-element application tutorials
The Field Precision Technical Library contains a growing body of tutorials on finite-element solutions for practical applications in electromagnetics and X-ray science.
Field Precision has posted over 20 PDF tutorials on finite-element techniques for practical applications in electromagnetics and X-ray science. The articles are of interest to to students and researchers.
Current topic areas include the following:

* Electron gun design
Design procedures for high-current, converging-beam guns. Variable current injectors for linear accelerators. Simulation of intense beam pinches for pulsed radiography. Equations and algorithms for emittance calculations.
Modeling cathode temperature effects. 3D design of sheet-beam electron guns

* Magnetic fields
Design of high-uniformity, energy-efficient solenoids. Force calculations for pull solenoids and other devices. Theory and applications of the Maxwell stress tensor. Magnetic shield design

* Electrostatics and high voltage
Effect of surrounding structures on electric field levels on high-voltage insulators. Calculating mutual capacitance of a multi-electrode systems via the energy method.

* X-ray science
Finding resolution limits in X-ray imaging systems.

New tutorials are continually being added to the Technical Library at http://www.fieldp.com/library.html. The library also includes downloadable instruction manuals in PDF format for all Field Precision programs as well as reprints of recent journal publications from the company.
