The hunt is on once again for the British manufacturers who have done the most to invest in their employees and young talent at regional and national level. EEF, the manufacturers’ organisation, and JAM Recruitment have launched two prestigious awards which will give companies the opportunity to demonstrate they are the best amongst their peers across the UK.
The EEF/JAM Investing in Skills award will be presented to the company which has done the most to build skills, develop employees and harness the talent of its people. Manufacturers who have improved or increased skills, training and development opportunities, whether accredited qualifications programmes or local workplace initiatives, should enter this category.

The EEF/JAM Partnership in Education award is new to the Future Manufacturing awards and awarded to the company which has done the most to promote engineering and manufacturing careers through activities with education providers, through formal and or informal partnership agreements.

The Future Manufacturing Awards are now in their fifth year and are recognised as the UK’s leading awards programme in the manufacturing sector. They offer manufacturers and apprentices from across the UK the opportunity to showcase their achievements across seven different award categories; business growth, people and skills, innovation, export, health and safety, environment and education.

The EEF awards are free to enter and provide many opportunities to win. The awards will be judged in five regions across the UK and regional winners will be announced at celebration events in November. The regional winners will then compete for the national awards at a prestigious ceremony in London in January 2014. Both regional and national winners and runners-up gain high profile publicity for their business, as well as the accolade of winning a prestigious industry award.

EEF Chief Executive Terry Scuoler commented:
“The Future Manufacturing Awards has established itself as the biggest and most prestigious event in the manufacturing sector. As a response to the programme’s popularity, I am pleased to announce that we have increased the number of categories and awards so that more of your business units can take part. This is our time to celebrate our manufacturing champions and the young apprentices who are shaping the future, and I challenge all UK manufacturers to step up and submit an entry.”

John Morris, CEO of JAM Recruitment, said:
“The Future Manufacturing Awards celebrate the innovation, determination and ambition of businesses in UK manufacturing sector. The quality of applications is always exceptional, and I am sure this year will be no different.
