The e-skin energy chain systems provides cleanroom equipment with data, power and media without unwanted particles contaminating the air, as proven by the Fraunhofer Institute IPA. All three e-skin energy chain types, with and without cables, have ISO Class 1 certification, which is the ‘cleanest’ classification.
In the test conducted by the Fraunhofer Institute IPA, following ISO14644-14, the inspectors mounted each of the e-skin energy chain systems on a test rig. There they were in motion for over 100 minutes.
The particles that are shed from the plastic energy chains were measured at three different measuring points. All three types of energy chains performed with ISO Class 1, both with and without cables. Class 1 stands for a particle load that should not exceed two particles with a size of ≥0.2μm per cubic metre of air.
The 'classic' e-skin is an enclosed corrugated tube, which is easily openable and fillable using a zipper system due to a modular structure. The e-skin soft can be used in small installation spaces on short unsupported lengths.
