Power management company Eaton addresses top concerns of industrial filtration users: safety and operating costs. Eaton’s new MAX-LOAD pleated filter bags help reduce maintenance, downtime and related costs while increasing operator safety by reducing the number of filter bag changeouts. This is due to the bag’s new pleated construction, which has four times more filter area than non-pleated bags. The new design significantly increases the dirt-holding capacity of the MAX-LOAD filter bag by up to ten times more than a similarly sized standard needle felt filter bag.
“Operating costs are significantly influenced by the lifetime and capacity of the filter media used,” said Mary Jo Surges, vice-president and general manager of the Filtration Business. “Our commitment to the needs of our customers and continuous improvement led us to developing the next generation of high-performance filter bags.”
The MAX-LOAD pleated filter bags are manufactured from nominal rated polypropylene or polyester extended-life needle felt with a proprietary surface treatment that is obtained by glazing the surface and melting fibres together to form a tight and secure matrix. This helps prevent fibre particle migration and contamination of the filtrate. In addition, its patented SENTINEL seal ring provides a highly flexible seal resistant to chemicals and ensures bypass-free sealing.
MAX-LOAD filter bags are available in sizes 01 and 02 with retention rates from 1 to 50 µm and fit into all Eaton standard bag filter housings. To get the best combination of quality and performance, Eaton recommends using the pleated filter bags for heavy-duty applications in the premium high-volume MAXILINE multi-bag filter housings or premium high-performance TOPLINE single bag filter housings.
