Yokogawa Electric Corporation announces that its recently developed EtherNet/IP compatible communication interface for industrial recorders and data-acquisition equipment has passed the ODVA* conformance test - a first in this field. Based on the EtherNet/IP protocol that is gaining acceptance as an industry standard, this interface eliminates the need for dedicated software to connect data-acquisition equipment with other devices such as programmable logic controllers (PLC) or temperature controllers, thus simplifying system development. This communication interface will be installed on Yokogawa's industrial recorders and data acquisition equipment starting in fiscal year 2008.

WYKO has announced that from 31st January 2008 its Integrated Solutions Divison will be renamed ERIKS Integrated Solutions. The name change is the latest part of the major rebranding campaign that the company has undertaken since the £139 million acquisition of WYKO by ERIKS in November 2006.

On a recent tour of the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, Keith Taylor-Nobbs, a Team Leader from Moeller Electric’s factory in Worksop, noticed something familiar inside the cab of the LNER (London and North Eastern Railway) B1 steam locomotive. On closer inspection, he discovered two Moeller Electric T0 isolator switches on the fireman’s side of cab.
