Emerson’s Ovation® expert control technology selected for automation of new concentrating solar power plants in Spain
Emerson Process Management announced today that over the last year the company has been selected to install its Ovation® control technology at six new solar plants in Spain. These plants, along with an Ovation installation at an operating solar power plant, will provide 350 MW of clean energy to Spain’s power grid, enough electricity to power roughly 70,000 homes.

Emerson to apply PlantWeb® digital architecture with Ovation® control technology at ultra-supercritical power plant in central China
Emerson Process Management announced today that it has won a contract to apply its PlantWeb® digital plant architecture with the Ovation® expert control system at the Pingdingshan Luyang coal-fired power plant in China’s Henan Province. Because of its location – near a coal mine and in central China – the plant is expected to more efficiently and cost effectively produce the additional megawatts needed to support the region’s economic development.

HIMA Controllers Ensure Maximum Availability at Nordsee Gas Terminal

To modernize the safety technology used in its liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) storage facility in Brunsbüttel (Schleswig-Holstein, Germany), Nordsee Gas Terminal GmbH & Co. KG will rely on three H51q systems from HIMA Paul Hildebrandt GmbH + Co KG as emergency shutdown (ESD) systems. The systems help ensure safe operations at the only LPG sea import terminal in Germany.

Emerson awarded contract to modernize instrumentation, control and electrical systems at the largest lignite-fired power plant in Europe
Emerson Process Management has been awarded a contract to update the instrumentation and controls on units 5 and 6 of the largest lignite-fired power plant in Europe, the Belchatow Power Plant in Poland. This project is part of a major reconstruction and modernization program that is intended to improve plant performance, increase availability and reduce environmental impact.
