A specialist manufacturer of hydraulic measurement and control products, Webtec, has unveiled its new CV120 series combination valve that provides a complete solution to hydraulic motor control for mobile machinery. Hydraulic system designers will discover that the compact CV120 reduces both space and pressure drop in machinery.

Recognising that investment in new equipment does not always come cheap, Webtec, a specialist manufacturer of hydraulic measurement and control products, is launching a new option for those who buy the company’s popular DHT, HT and DHM series of blue box hydraulic testers.

It has been announced that Webtec is introducing its new VFD120E electric-operated variable-priority flow divider. Designed particularly for use on mobile machinery, it allows the speed of hydraulic motors on trailed agricultural attachments and on mining and construction machinery to be controlled remotely.

  Webtec have announced sixth-former George Cheeld as this year’s recipient of the Roy Cuthbert Scholarship. This award, part of the wider UK Arkwright Engineering Scholarship Scheme, was named after Webtec’s founder, a passionate engineer and entrepreneur who passed away in 2013.

St Ives based Webtec, for the second year running now has teamed up with local school St Ivo to take part in the Engineering Education Scheme (EES). This EDT programme links teams of 16/17 year old pupils and their teacher with local companies to work on real, scientific and technological problems.

A series of new SAE J1939 CAN hydraulic sensors has been announced by Webtec, for OEM mobile and industrial applications where customers require real-time monitoring of hydraulic flow, pressure and temperature around the clock. Designed for closed loop control on high-pressure hydraulic systems, the sensors help users predict imminent hydraulic failure or they can be used to perform diagnostic fault-finding, ultimately helping to prevent or reduce downtime and warranty claims.

When OEMs produce mobile machinery for industries such as construction, mining, agriculture or energy there is a limitation of having to design hydraulic solutions around standard parts. Most hydraulic valve manufacturers, for example, will typically seek volumes of around 5,000-10,000 a year to design a new valve. As a result, many OEMs make do with standard issue, and have to design their systems accordingly. But it doesn’t have to be that way anymore.
