SPS IPC Drives: EMC filters feature high frequency stability
SMP Sintermetalle Prometheus is presenting its EMC filters with high frequency stability. The specifically developed materials are now effective for frequencies up to the gigaHertz range. EMC filters reduce interference currents in power converter systems which are generated by parasitic effects and cyclic elements of the system. The material plays an important part in this: the target is to achieve stable inductance over the entire frequency spectrum in order to maximise interference suppression.

Chokes with protection class IP66 for inverters
SMP Sintermetalle Prometheus GmbH & Co KG is introducing a range of chokes designed specifically for use with inverters. The special feature of these units is their ingress protection class of IP66, which makes them suitable for use in rough environments, for example in rail vehicles or on oil platforms. Chokes have the function of restricting incoming current on the line side.

To meet the ever more demanding requirements in solar technology, SMP has developed high-performance chokes for solar power inverters. The chokes have exceptionally compact dimensions and operate quietly, which allows their use in residential areas. Developed by SMP especially for solar power applications, the materials used have low magnetostriction and exceptionally low eddy current and hysteresis losses. This means that the inverters in which they are used are highly efficient, so that a larger proportion of the generated power can be fed back into the grid, resulting in a faster return of investments.
