Elscint Automation recently manufactured 3 sets of vibratory feeder equipment (one set consisting of two vibratory bowl feeders, one in clockwise and one in anti-clockwise direction) and one linear vibrator) for feeding of two types of camphor tablets. One tablet size was 16 x 16 x 4 mm thick while the other was 12 x 12 x 3 mm thick.

Recently, a customer approached Elscint Automation, for feeding of small 8 pins having diameter of just dia 2.2 and length varying between 3 mm to 10 mm. All the pins had one end flat while the other end was slightly tapered.

Many times, it is said that though Vibratory Bowl Feeders have been around since the early part of the Twentieth Century, till date no major alternative for the same has been invented. However, a Rotary or Centrifugal Feeder which uses a motorised drive, is definitely an alternative.

Elscint recently supplied a vibratory drive for an old bowl made by a German machine manufacturer named Bausch + Stroebel. The requirement was for feeding of rubber bungs having dia 30 mm. The customer was a leading biotech company in India.

Elscint recently supplied a vibratory feeding and stacking system for lapping operation of a very small component having diameter 5 mm x 2.82 mm height with a small boss having dia 2 on one side. The requirement was to stack this component on a Hylem Plate having diameter 190 mm. The stacked Hylem Ring was required to be transferred onto the lapping machine for further operation.

Elscint Automation has developed an innovative Ball Sorting & Grading Unit for small balls. The Elscint Ball Sorting and Grading Unit is designed to feed, sort and grade small balls which require to be graded / sorted according to their thickness. This Unit operates at a speed in excess of 300 pieces per minute depending on the size of the balls.

Elscint Automation manufactures a vibratory counting and dispensing system for small screws. A major problem faced by a lot of automobile manufacturers is that a particular number of screws need to be fixed on an engine / automobile.

The balls were of stainless steel and having a diameter of only dia 3 mm. A total of two outlets were required at 180 degrees to each other. Balls have a tendency to roll back in a bowl feeder and do not move up the track. However, in the special type of bowl designed by Elscint, this does not take place. A very small bowl having diameter 130 mm was fabricated for this purpose

The tobacco flakes being very light, thin and also moist have a tendency to get bridged in the tray leading to inconsistent feeding. However, using an Elscint III linear vibrator with a 50 mm width x 300 mm long tray, Elscint eliminated this problem to ensure consistent feeding of the tobacco flakes. Further the requirement was to run the vibrator for only 800 milliseconds and stop for 2 seconds before starting the cycle. For this Elscint provided E3FC voltage controller which has the provision for continuous start / stop cycle.

Elscint used a large bowl having a diameter of 1050 mm for this purpose. The drive unit used for the purpose was Elscint Model 630 having a rating of 1500 VA with half wave operation with four coils.
