Launched by NASA in August 2011, the solar-powered Juno spacecraft entered Jupiter's orbit on Monday, July 4, 2016. The spacecraft is carrying the Jovian Auroral Distribution Experiment (JADE) instrument, which contains three parts manufactured by Diversified Plastics, Inc. Engineered by a nationally recognized independent research and development laboratory, the JADE sensor is being used to measure electrons and ions that produce Jupiter's strong aurora.

Diversified Plastics, Inc. has expanded their component production capabilities with the addition of an 85-ton Toshiba EC85 electric plastics injection molding machine. This machine will enable the company to produce small, high-precision components required by the medical device, aerospace and electronics industries.

Diversified Plastics, Inc. has announced the production of a high-precision component for the new Dynapar™ HS35R Encoder. The component, a shaftsizing insert, fits within the encoderʼs center bore and accommodates various motor shaft sizes, while insulating the encoder from external stresses.

Diversified Plastics, Inc. has achieved ISO 13485:2003 certification by showing it has established a quality management system to provide medical components and devices that consistently meet regulatory requirements for the medical device industry. Many medical device manufacturers are now requiring their suppliers to be ISO 13485:2003 certified. “Weʼve been ISO 9001:2000 certified for many years and this new level of certification provides us with the opportunity for producing a greater variety of products for a larger base of customers,” said Joe Bourgeault, director of quality, Diversified Plastics. “This takes our quality management system to the next level.”

Diversified Plastics, Inc. has won office technology valued at $105,179 as part of the Xtreme Technology Makeover contest. Organized by Verus Corp., RJS Software, 18 other sponsors and supported by five Twin Cities Chambers of Commerce (MetroNorth, Minneapolis Regional, North Hennepin Area, St. Paul and TwinWest), this contest was the first of what is to become an annual event.

This facility allows the company to extend their reach into industries such as medical devices, filtration, and aerospace where special assembly and packaging operations need to be performed in clean room conditions.
