BEI Sensors announces the launch of the LP Series, a new line of heavy-duty rotary encoders that provide reliable and precise motion control feedback in a compact, low profile encoder package for harsh applications.  Using an innovative sensing technology that allows for accurate position and speed sensing, this product family is built tough to withstand extreme temperatures, shock and vibration, wet and dirty environments.  To fit a variety of system needs, three distinct encoder types are available in incremental or absolute single turn outputs; a compact version with cable or connector terminations, a terminal box option and an explosion proof model.  These three versions provide a rugged and reliable motion control solution for a wide range of harsh applications in the material handling, metal process, wind turbine, off highway vehicle, elevator, agriculture, oil and gas, and building automation industries

The new Model 9970 Hall effect position sensor from BEI Sensors ships quickly, within two weeks, and features a 50mm mounting hole spacing for drop-in compatibility with existing installations.  A 1.5 Series AMP Superseal connector comes standard and the well-sealed, IP67 and IP69K package uses non-contacting technology, making this sensor exceptionally rugged and ideal for applications in harsh environments.  With an extended operating life of up to 35 million cycles and a temperature rating from -40° to 125°C, the 9970 has been designed to perform in tough conditions typical of off highway vehicles.  This heavy-duty design allows for precise motion control feedback in a variety of wash-down and dirty and dusty applications. 

The new functional safety incremental encoder range from BEI Sensors is certified by TÜV Rheinland and provides the most complete safety encoder offering on the market today. These encoders can be used in the highest industrial safety related applications up to SIL3/PLe Cat. 4, and are mechanically and electrically designed to safety standards EN ISO 13849-1, IEC/EN 61 508, and IEC/EN 62061. The range is offered with a standard Sine/Cosine analog electronic output or an industry-first for safety encoders; a digital (TTL or HTL) electronic output.
