A new standalone USB data logger can provide users with more real-time information than any comparable data logger range on the market says Lascar Electronics. The EL-GFX-TC has an on-board dot-matrix display, and it is capable of measuring and storing up to 252,000 temperature readings. The information is resolved to the nearest 0.1 digit, processing data from a single J, K or T-type thermocouple input.
Featuring a high-contrast graphic LCD screen, the unit provides real-time analysis of readings either as a data summary (showing highest and lowest readings and alarm conditions) or as a trend graph that updates as new data is added.
The data logger features three buttons to navigate through an on-screen menu. This menu provides the user with access to the real-time data in trend or summary format as well as allowing them to stop and restart the data logger without re-connecting to the host-PC. Multiple data logging sessions can be stored on the device ready for upload at a later date.
Powered by two user replaceable ½ AA batteries, the data logger can be used independently or plugged directly into a wall socket using a USB AC power supply. The unit is supplied with a magnetic clip allowing wall or refrigeration mounting.
The data logger is supplied with a K-Type thermocouple. Fitted with a standard mini-thermocouple connector on the base of the data logger, users can choose however to use either J or T-type thermocouples instead if they wish.
The accompanying configuration software, EL-WIN-USB is free to download at www.easylogusb.com providing the means of setting up, downloading and viewing data from the EL-GFX data loggers and allows the user to name the unit, select degrees C or degrees F measurement, set high and low alarms and determine logger start time.
