ARPRO innovation set to hot up the HVAC industry

ARPRO has been chosen for a new domestic heat pump product thanks its unique capabilities and high performance levels.  Specified by IMAT, part of Marcegaglia, ARPRO was used to produce an application for the MIZAR line of heat pumps to cover the internal technology, protecting it from exposure to moisture and corrosion, while also offering outstanding thermal and sound insulation.

IMAT develops and delivers both finished products and pre-finished components for installation in heat pumps and heaters. Using ARPRO, the product manufactured by JSP, the IMAT team designed a cover that would not only meet the requirements of functionality, but also provide an aesthetically pleasing and sleek exterior appearance.

Massimo Rigoni at IMAT explained why ARPRO was used over more traditional materials: “At IMAT we are very proud to produce innovative design solutions and strive to deliver original ideas that will benefit the industry in the future. ARPRO fitted perfectly into this brief due to its proven performance in applications across various sectors and its ability to be adapted to suit our needs.

“Through our extensive research we came to the conclusion that ARPRO would be ideal to use within domestic heat pumps as it was lighter in weight than more traditional materials such as metal or plastic and could easily be manipulated into the required shape. This resulted in an application that was cost-effective to produce and economically viable. By using such a material within our heat pumps we were also able to reduce the sound levels and achieve energy savings – important features for the end users.”

ARPRO’s unique bead form provides structurally-sound performance, but also allows designers to take advantage of its other features, such as high noise absorption, to develop a product without any compromise. With a product such as the MIZAR, ARPRO was able to meet the specific targets set by IMAT that has resulted in a heat pump that is compact, lightweight, highly efficient and boasts low noise levels.

Massimo Rigoni continued: “We believe ARPRO can offer many more advantages in different applications throughout the heating and ventilation industry, especially in the thermo-health sector. After seeing the success we have had with ARPRO’s use in the heat pumps, we are now considering using the material in products under development that require chemical inertness, structural strength and the need to be lightweight. ARPRO is also in line with our corporate strategy to provide products that are environmentally friendly and reflects our ethics and values that we want to offer our customers.”

Paul Compton, JSP President and Chief Executive Officer – Europe, Middle East and Africa, added: “The potential applications for ARPRO are almost limitless due to its flexibility and freedom of shape. This latest use of the material demonstrates how it continues to aid in the evolution of different industries. Used for the first time in this type of applications, ARPRO’s successful application is just the first step in an exciting period for JSP as it continues to provide exciting design solutions and contributes towards products that will change the way we live.”
