A key feature to Rexroth’s RTC (Rodless Thrust Cylinder) series is its innovative oval piston construction, which allows for high loads and torques resulting in a space saving design, as opposed to the more common round piston. The cylinders in the Rexroth RTC series are available is four versions, each designed specifically for the job at hand be it for applications requiring cost-effectiveness, high precision, high performance or compact dimensions.
While the basic version RTC-BV is suitable for universal use, Rexroth’s RTC-CG (Compact Guide) version packs high-precision features into compact dimensions. RTC-EG (E-Line Guide) represents the most cost-effective guided version of rodless cylinders from Rexroth, and the RTC-HD (Heavy Duty) version is designed for handling extremely heavy loads.
The RTC is available in a wide selection of diameters, ranging from 16 mm to 80 mm (5/8”– 3”), and a maximum stroke length of 9900mm (32.5 ft.), depending on size and version, and is available in both ISO-G or NPT port configurations.
To determine the most appropriate cylinder to suit a specific application a configuration program is available online. Also available on the Rexroth website is a calculation program for comparing cylinder dimensions with required flow rate, complemented by corresponding CAD data.
All RTC guided cylinders are delivered with an Easy-2-Combine interface. Via this standardized interface, the Rexroth RTC can be combined easily with other components from Rexroth equipped with this interface to form multi-axis systems. This simplified machine design and construction will save engineers both time and money.
