EMKA continue to expand their offering of compression technology latches with this new Program 1000 Compression Lift-and-Turn swinghandle style latches. These are expected to be of particular value in vibration prone situations for closure of cabinets/enclosures, especially in air-conditioning or vehicle equipment access situations, as well as other similar applications which require substantial opportunity for adjustment.

Truly cool in all senses of the word, what could be “cooler” than a visible light adhesive curing system that addresses the major disadvantages of traditional light systems? The new Bluewave™ LED system from Intertronics has no bulbs to degrade or need changing, cures without adding heat and offers constant light intensity for thousands of hours without re-calibration. This makes it ideal for visible light spot curing of coatings as well as adhesive bonding of polycarbonate, PVC, PET, metal, glass and many other substrates.

The new castor series from Elesa includes their polyurethane tyred RE.FF range with technopolymer wheels, suitable for loads of up to 750kg and for use on floors of tile, asphalt, cement/resin or similar. They are likely to suit industrial trolleys or transfer equipment of many types.

When a major pneumatic tool manufacturer in Brazil wanted to develop a new line of high rotation tools, it turned to Ensinger for help in manufacturing the compression vanes. Requirements included resistance to flexural loads, and high wear and temperature resistance in dry-running operations. Ensinger chose VICTREX T-Series polymer for the vanes, which not only delivered enhanced mechanical and tribological properties, but helped the manufacturer satisfy environmental requirements.

The technology involved in producing high quality moulded plastic components as successful alternatives for cast or even fabricated metal items has been further developed by the O F Bell Injection Moulding company of County Durham.

There were a large number of enthusiastic visitors from industrial giants through to Formula 1 winners at the Fastening Solutions Exhibition Cosford recently. Pre-exhibition soundings showed that some previous visitors who would like to come - having attended the last show - were now actually too busy to do so! However the promise of lower cost fastening and assembly solutions and an opportunity to review all the latest fastening innovations convinced many OEMs to send more than one key engineer to the show, so that they could more effectively solve current fastening/cost issues.

ThreeBond are pleased to announce a flame retardant version of their established TB1530 series 1-component moisture curing elastic adhesives. The TB1537 is certified to UL94 V-0 and is both phosphorous and halogen free. This makes it especially of interest in electronics/electrical applications such as bonding of inverters/converters onto substrate, motor coils, sensor potting, sealing of battery packs for laptops etc.
