World’s first industrial city chosen to host multinational event

Manchester is set to host 'Industry 4.0 Summit', which will be Europe's first dedicated exhibition for the 4th Industrial Revolution. With the manufacturing industry preparing for a significant step-change, the city was chosen as the world's first truly industrial city to host the inaugural - 'Industry 4.0 Summit'.

'Industry 4.0 Summit' is Europe's only multinational event dedicated to the future of manufacturing industries. Described as the 4th industrial revolution, the world is currently witnessing a number of innovations which are fundamentally changing the way manufacturing businesses operate for the future. 'Industry 4.0 Summit' provides a platform to showcase the latest innovations, process changes and technological advancements coming to the market.

Event organiser Gary Gilmour, commented: “What will the factory of the future look like? How will technology play a bigger part in your manufacturing? What about next generation communication, systems and concepts? All very real concerns for modern manufacturers. Industry 4.0 Summit will bring together the biggest names in manufacturing with the latest technology, processes and practices to answer these questions.”

Supported by some of the biggest bodies in manufacturing, both inside and outside of government (including the All-Party Parliamentary Manufacturing Group), the event will welcome around 50 influential guest speakers from industry leading names such as Siemens, ABB, Mitsubishi, TechUK, ATOS, Fujitsu, Smart Industry Netherlands, and the Austrian Federal Ministry of Transport, Innovation and Technology.

'Industry 4.0 Summit' will cover the broad spectrum of manufacturing arenas, from biotech, textiles, electronics, construction, energy, defence, aerospace, automotive and consumer markets. Gilmour continued: “April 2017 will see two co-located major manufacturing events, hosted in the UK – Industry 4.0 Summit and Factories of the Future. Showcasing hundreds of innovations to help manufacturers digitize and upgrade operations, Industry 4.0 is the next revolution in manufacturing.”

The exhibition is set to run over 4-5th April 2017 at the Manchester Convention Centre. Spaces to exhibit at the event are currently available, with speaking slots also available for guest speakers. Visit the official website at www.industry40summit.com.
