Cable management specialist, HellermannTyton has relaunched its innovative cable support solution, HelaDuct, for the electrical market.
Made from high-quality PVC, the HelaDuct cable support solution range is durable and resistant to heat and cold, providing lateral stability and secure containment of cables and the best perforation according to European Standards - DIN EN 50085.
It was developed by HellermannTyton to streamline the installation, maintenance and repair of cables in wiring ducts.
Taking over from their HTS cable trunking solution, HellermannTyton’s HelaDuct fast-fix accessories are suitable for large diameter, small diameter and intrinsically safe wiring providing a versatile and flexible cable management solution.
The core range of metric-size PVC ducts consists of two products - the HTWD-PN with narrow fingers and slots, and the HTWD-PW with wide fingers and slots.
Both products are available in a vast range of widths and heights, all providing smooth, burr-free edges that reduce the risk of damage to cables and provide a clean and tidy appearance.
With wire trunking being used in industries where safety is paramount, the HelaDuct range also includes the HTWD-HF wiring duct specifically designed for greater fire-safety, such as in public transport, tunnels and data-processing centres.
The range also includes the blue HTWD-PWB duct, used to identify intrinsically safe wiring, for instance where explosive gases or chemicals are used in chemical plants.
In addition to PVC trunking, the HelaDuct range also includes a series of wire retainers and cable tie anchors. These prevent wires from falling out even when vertically routed and help to easily lace cable ties into the trunking system.
Duncan Sargent, Product Manager for Insulation and Protection at HellermannTyton comments: “Managing cables in ducts is a key issue for panel builders, as improper maintenance and management can lead to a wide range of health and safety hazards, such as power surges and electrocution. We developed HelaDuct to help the electrical industry ensure panel builds are not only neat and tidy, but also stay put when placed under strong vibrations or in vertical installations.”
HellermannTyton has an in-house design team and its own manufacturing capability, so can provide expert advice on cable management as well as bespoke solutions. With this capability, HellermannTyton can create solutions to meet the diverse needs of electrical installation contractors.
