First trade fair hackathon with open PLCnext ecosystem

In 2016, the open control platform based on PLCnext Technology from Phoenix Contact was unveiled at SPS IPC Drives. The new solution converts a traditional PLC into an open control platforms that can be programmed in IEC 61131, high level language or model-based code.

In addition, the PLCnext Store that Phoenix Contact has now launched on the market is a software store where users can load apps onto the control platform during the code creation process.

PROFICLOUD, which is a professional cloud solution, rounds out the automation ecosystem. Thanks to the openness of the complete solution, Phoenix Contact offers numerous options for linking the traditional automation world with the IT world and generating new business models based on software and data. These are suitable conditions for participating in the first automation hackathon at SPS IPC Drives 2018.

Interested parties can sign up for the hackathon here which will take place at the trade fair grounds of NCC West in Nuremberg on 25th and 26th November, 2018. The required infrastructure, special equipment, and catering are provided.

In addition, Phoenix Contact PLCnext specialists will provide you support in implementing your ideas. It is up to the participants to select a specific application from the B2B area and the addressed industry. You will then present your solutions to a large audience of professionals in the trade fair forum on 27th November, 2018.

In addition to cash prizes totaling €15,000, outstanding concepts can be transferred to an app that can be distributed through the PLCnext Store.

Phoenix Contact will be in Hall 9, Stand 310 at SPS IPC Drives.
