For the production of box-type sheet metal components, a new range of folding machines employing electromagnetic rather than conventional mechanical clamping of the sheet has been introduced by Press & Shear, Tamworth, under a sole agency agreement with the South African manufacturer, Electrabrake, a division of Allied Production Industries (Pty). The machines were launched in the UK on the Press & Shear stand at MACH 2008.

Stamping small items like electronic components, watch parts and automotive connectors does not require high tonnage. However, to mass produce today’s ever more complex products, progression tools with increasing numbers of stages are needed, which in turn require a long bed to accommodate them. The new Bruderer BSTA 200 high-speed press is aimed precisely at this market.

EOS today announced that the 11th EOS International User Meeting (IUM) will be held from April 14th to 16th 2008, at the Hotel “The Monarch” in Bad Goegging, Germany.
