IDC’s ZigBee WIRELESS- ENABLED CHIP PROVIDES IDEAL SOLUTION TO TRACK DISPENSING OF BEER & SPIRITS IN HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY.

IDC’s low power ZigBee wireless technology is providing a simple, low cost solution for reducing maintenance costs and improving operating flexibility in plants with large conveyor control schemes, where a central PLC controls a line of several conveyors in sequence. With these multiple systems it is often a problem to run a single conveyor drive motor independently for maintenance purposes, such as tensioning the conveyor belt. However, with IDC’s new ZB111 bar code reader, with integrated keypad and screen, independent running of individual conveyors can be achieved simply and quickly with high levels of safety compliance.

Improving production line efficiency through smarter communication and integrating warehouse distribution systems with external logistics were the main focus for visitors to the Intelligent Distributed Controls (IDC) exhibition stand at the well attended IMHX show this year. IDC, one of the UK’s leading experts in warehouse and production line integration has confirmed very strong interest in its wireless hardware and software solutions employed to improve efficiency, organisation and workflow; reporting an order pipeline of over £300,000 worth of business as a result of enquiries made at the NEC based exhibition held in November.

IDC APPLIES RFID TECHNOLOGY IN NEW TRANSPORT iNET- FUNDED ACADEMIC/BUSINESS PROJECT TO IMPROVE ROAD SAFETY. IDC is applying its RFID technology in a new Transport iNet –funded project to develop a Driver Behaviour System that aims to improve road safety and reduce accidents by alerting drivers – at all times - when they exceed speed limits. The £83,000 research project is a joint academic/industry collaboration involving the Universities of Derby and Loughborough, IDC Ltd and RFID tag manufacturer, CLC UK Ltd.
