Helping out at Texas plants affected by Hurricaine Harvery

After the horrific month just gone bringing Hurricane Harvey and Irma, Endress+Hauser and its partner for Sales and Service, Vector Controls, are over in Texas to help the plants assess damage, troubleshoot problems, replace damaged instrumentation, and get chemical plants and refineries back up and running – safely and quickly.

Endress+Hauser and Vector Controls and Automation Group in LaPorte, Texas, are coordinating efforts, with more than 70 technicians and engineers are in the area, Endress+Hauser is anticipating needs by increasing production at its US manufacturing facilities.

Endress+Hauser and Vector Controls will be providing 24/7 support as customers work to get operations back online.

Endress+Hauser and Vector Controls have teams ready in LaPorte, TX and around the country to provide the support needed locally – from phone support to onsite visits to product repair and replacements.

Onsite, the companies are assisting with site walk through, commissioning, and plant start-up. “Our technicians can examine process control loops and assess damage, troubleshoot loop issues, and calibrate and repair Endress+Hauser - as well as devices from other vendors - and recommend replacements if needed,” said Todd Lucey, General Manager of Endress+Hauser’s US operations. “Our technicians also have the full support of the Endress+Hauser US production centres to provide replacements and spare parts quickly.”

“We can provide individual technicians as well as an entire start-up team,” Lucey said. “Start-up teams could include project engineering managers, commissioning managers, control system programmers, instrumentation technicians, as well as valve technicians. Endress+Hauser service and support teams are ready to be an extension of a plant’s existing teams to help make a re-start be safe and as efficient as possible.”

Endress+Hauser is setting up an employee donation programme which the company will match.

“Our hearts are with everyone in the path of Hurricane Harvey,” added Lucey. “The spirit of the people of Texas, and the Vector team amazes and inspires the Endress+Hauser team.  We understand the challenges now, and to come, and are here to help.”

“A lot of work, time, energy, thought process and actions have already been done by many people working at all hours of the day over the last week since Hurricane Harvey first came ashore,” observed Lucey. “I would like to personally thank everyone who has already gone above and beyond to help, and will continue to do so in the coming months.”
