BOFA International awarded prize for innovation

The Queen’s Award for Enterprise (Innovation) has been awarded to BOFA International, the worldwide company in fume and dust extraction technology for industrial processes. In the award’s 30th anniversary year, BOFA has been awarded the prestigious accolade for the development of its Intelligent Operating (iQ) System, which is transforming the way that organisations around the world are able to protect the health of employees and improve production processes through more effective extraction of airborne contaminants in the workplace.

Tony Lockwood, Managing Director of BOFA, commented: “Receiving the Queen’s Award for Innovation is testament to the hard work of everyone at BOFA and to the global success of our technology. It is doubly satisfying that we have achieved this recognition in our 30th anniversary year.”

BOFA has won multiple awards for its technology – including receiving the Queen’s Award for Export in 2012 – and serves sectors as diverse as laser, electronics, mechanical engineering, printing, 3D printing, medical, pharmaceutical, dental and beauty in over 100 countries.

The company leads the way in the design and manufacture of advanced systems that safeguard working environments by removing potentially harmful airborne particulate resulting from industrial processes.

The latest Queen’s Award acknowledges the positive impact of the company’s iQ platform, which has introduced performance enhancements, including independent filter status monitoring and remote data analysis, to improve extraction efficiency, reduce the risk of production down-time and lower the lifetime cost of system ownership.

Lockwood added: “BOFA started as a family business, and from the earliest days the empowerment of our people has been central to our success. At the same time, our ongoing commitment to R&D makes us agile, enabling us to stay ahead of the competition through technological innovation. Above all, we listen to the needs of our customers, working closely with them to develop solutions that make working environments safer for people and more productive for businesses.”
