IDC launches new, innovative ZigBee wireless key fob with an audible alarm and built- in position location engine
Intelligent Distributed Controls has added the ZB101 Personal Interactive Key Fob to its range of ZigBee wireless communication products. The Key Fob is a compactly designed remote push button and alarm which is ideal for personnel tracking in hazardous working conditions, as found in remote substations and marine industries. The Key Fob has a built in alarm and tracking system and up to five push buttons with varying operations; it offers the advantage of extremely low power consumption meaning that its two lithium coin batteries will last over a million operations.

The power it generates matches 13,000 barrels of crude oil. Vestas wind turbines generate more than 50 million MWh every year which is enough electricity to supply every household in a country the size of Spain.

congatec AG receives one million Euros to promote further growth

congatec AG announces that Technofonds Bayern (The Bavarian Technology Fund) of Bayern Kapital GmbH (Bavaria Capital) intends to increase its holding in the company by injecting a further one million Euros, together with a group of lead investors. Their total share holding will thereby increase to 11.1 %. congatec will utilise these funds for the continued expansion of its development activities, particularly in the field of energy-saving computer modules for mobile applications. A sizeable portion of the funds will also be allocated to financing the further growth of the business.

New VeriPRO Technology From Howard Leight Significantly Enhances Hearing Conservation programmes

The weakness of the Single Number Rating system in regards to the specification of earplugs is well recognised in that it provides a theoretical level of hearing protection as opposed to an actual measurement of protection. New VeriPRO technology from Howard Leight by Sperian measures real-world attenuation of unmodified earplugs and can be used as a means to improve individual employee training and enhance the overall effectiveness of hearing conservation programs. This truly innovative technology has been developed in conjunction with the House Ear Institute (www.hei.org) in the United States and its launch is part of the HearForever campaign from Howard Leight by Sperian.
