One Landia Long-Shaft Slurry Pump. In service for twenty five years. No maintenance, no spares and never been out of the pit. Working perfectly. This was the recent discovery made by Landia at a farm near Koblenz in western Germany.
Werner Ehrentstein, who is extending his agricultural operation, had contacted Landia to purchase some additional pumps and mixers for his farm in Dierdorf.
The type-MP Landia Long-Shaft Slurry Pump, which was installed in 1987, was designed with cast iron housing and impeller, with pipe and fittings in hot-dipped galvanised steel.
”We are used to seeing our pumps give very long service of around 10-15 years,” said Cord Cassens, sales director of Landia’s German subsidiary, ”but to find one in such good condition after 25 years with it never even having been taken out of the pit is a tribute to our high quality engineering and makes us very proud”.
