High precision gearing exhibit at Engineering Design Show

One of the products the Harmonic Drive team will be showcasing at this year’s event is its CanisDrive range of compact hollow shaft servo actuators. The range incorporates the company’s newly developed high capacity drive bearings. This means that the external load can be directly mounted without the need for additional bearings or support. As a result, the CanisDrive line is lightweight and more compact, without compromising the gear’s high precision.

“Our CanisDrive range is the first time we’ve used our CobaltLine gears in a servo actuator,” said Graham Mackrell, Managing Director of Harmonic Drive UK. “These gears were designed to provide repeatable high peak-torques with zero backlash and lifetime precision. Using the ColbaltLine gear means our CanisDrive actuators are able offer a 30% higher maximum torque than standard actuators.
