ECS demonstrating the benefits of Archimedes screw technology

After a year of sustained growth with larger contacts across all of the business areas, and several new framework awards, ECS Engineering Services returns to the Pump Centre Conference. Highlighting its extensive capabilities and the many reasons for its ongoing success, ECS Engineering will be on stand F38, and visitors to the Pump Centre Conference 2017 will be able to learn about a range of screw pump repair and replacement services, as well as general water control project solutions.

ECS has over 20 years’ experience in delivering high quality, reliable and cost effective engineering solutions to the water utility and related environment organisations. It specialises in the design, fabrication and construction of complete turnkey projects, as well as offering installation, maintenance, repair and replacement services for Archimedes screw pumps.

The company will be discussing these pumps in detail at the Pump Centre Conference, focusing on how they deliver open, clog-free operation, with high efficiency and low operating costs. With a robust construction and virtually no wear, the screw pumps – supplied through a partnership with leading Dutch manufacturer Landustrie – offer the highest levels of reliability over their full lifetime.

ECS has completed numerous projects involving screw pump replacements over the last 12 months, including the replacement of four screw pumps for Wessex Water, numerous refurbishments of Archimedes screw pumps for Scottish Water and the manufacture, supply and installation of replacement screw pumps at Severn Trent Water’s Mansfield Sewage Treatment Works.

Archimedes screw pumps are highly adaptable, with automatic adjustment of the pump capacity as a function of the incoming flow. Depending on the pump installation, operation is available across a wide flow range, with capacities from 10-11,500l/s and lift up to 25m being available.

The company has also applied its expertise to refurbishing and upgrading a number of pumping stations to deliver operational improvements. Recent examples of this include the Kennett pumping station in Cambridgeshire and the Keadby pumping station in North Lincolnshire, an important part of the flood defence infrastructure for the Isle of Axholme.

ECS Contracts Manager Jamie Wesley commented: “The last 12 months have seen ECS strengthen its position in the marketplace, enabling us to drive the business forward. It’s all about going the extra mile to make sure a job is done properly and delivered on time, with a willingness to shoulder the responsibility for project completion.”

Visitors to the Pump Centre Conference, 11th May 2017, at the Telford International Centre, can find the full ECS service offering on stand F38.
