New Range of Solar Energy Solutions From shentongroup
Power solutions company, shentongroup, has announced the introduction of a new range of solar energy solutions. The range is being sold to both industrial and commercial customers who, as part of their company’s environmental policy in addressing climate change, wish to be ‘seen to be green’. Government and energy utilities are embracing solar energy on a global scale because it can compete with conventional energy sources such as oil and gas not only in terms of making environmental savings, but also on grounds of cost.
The announcement follows the confirmation of the Government’s Feed In Tariff Scheme (FITS), on 1st April, which pays businesses to generate their own electricity from renewable or low carbon sources. Feed In Tariffs are payments made by the Energy Companies to anyone who installs a system to generate their own electricity, including Solar Energy solutions.
Backed by the Government, these tariffs are aimed at increasing the amount of renewable energy produced and used in the UK. The ultimate goal is to increase the total percentage of energy that comes from renewable sources from 2% (in 2009) to at least 15% by 2020. The scheme guarantees a minimum payment for all electricity generated by renewable sources as well as a separate payment for any electricity exported back to the grid.

With energy efficiency high on the list of every company’s achievable goals, the addition of the latest generation high efficiency Solar Energy system can turn a building from being an energy user into an energy generator. Energy supply companies are required to source a percentage of their energy from a renewable source in order to help cut carbon dioxide. Companies with large systems will be able to sell any surplus electricity back to their energy supplier.
Solar energy products are a way of generating some, if not all, of a building’s electricity requirements with no running costs and no pollution, indeed every Kilowatt hour of solar electricity you produce will save approximately 0.56 Kg of CO2.

The shentongroup entry into the natural energy market is a continuation of its ‘power with responsibility’ philosophy. The company produces a range of energy efficient products including its innovative Combined Heat & Power (CHP) system, powertherm.
