GFV equipped machines from GYS consume up to 30% less energy from the power supply. This vastly reduced the constraints of the UK 13A power supply, compared with 16A in Europe, enabling higher performance from the normal domestic plug. Secondly, the Flexible Voltage capability enables operation on any voltage in the range 85-265V thus products are suitable for the UK site requirement to work only on 110V, additional benefits include very high tolerance to any sub-optimal power supply such as power generators or long extension leads. Thirdly GFV simply uses less energy with the obvious extremely valuable Environmental and energy cost benefits.
One of just 3 awards made this year the Innovation award is designed for British and French companies which are particularly innovative demonstrated through proven competence in Research and Development or have launched a revolutionary new product. GYS is a French family-owned manufacturer of welding machines and automotive battery chargers. CEO Bruno Bouygues said “GYS main focus has always been the manufacturing of innovative and high technology machines. This new Green Flexible Voltage technology has received an extremely positive response from our clients in the UK market and we are very pleased to be nominated for its development, in the 2010 Franco British Business Awards.”
