The list of capabilities and equipment from Selco Products has been expanded in order to keep up with growing demands from OEMs for ready to install custom configurations. OEMs are continuously looking for turn-key solutions in order to increase their productivity. They are looking for specialised products that will assist them with their design constraints.
Selco works with OEM’s to help them to eliminate assembly time, design time and material waste while saving on in-house material and labour costs.
Selco offers a wide range of capabilities and utilises equipment to accommodate OEM custom designs. Special configurations completed in the custom manufacturing department include environmentally sealing, lead forming, standard and specialised connectors and brackets, wire and cable assembly, standard and custom thermowell designs, and a variety of ink jet and pad printing, markings and labelling.
Manufacturing Manager Don Miller said: “Our goal in manufacturing is to deliver the highest quality product to our customers at a competitive price by investing in automation that allows us to minimise lead times.”
Miller added: “We also work with our customers on their custom designs for the ease of manufacturability.”
The equipment that assists with these capabilities includes an automated surface mount technology (SMT) placement machine, reflow oven, wave solder, printed circuit board (PCB) assembly and wire processing machines that includes an automated cable processing functions like stripping, cutting and crimping. Selco does also utilise some offshore facilities that allow for manufacturing at high volumes at a competitive cost.
