Outstanding motor services award received for commitment to Theme Park

Drayton Manor Theme Park is a family-run enterprise that entertains around 1.5 million visitors every year with over 100 rides and attractions across the park. Every ride has one or more electric motors that produce the thrills and excitement visitors expect from a theme park. Keeping these motors operational requires a considerable effort from the maintenance team that has been supported by Sulzer, since the mid-1980s.

The rides use a significant number of submersible motors on attractions such as Stormforce 10, which recreates the story of a lifeboat rescue. It features a reverse water chute and three drops up to 18m. In such an environment the electric motors eventually succumb to water ingress and require repair – either as a swift repair or as a planned maintenance service. Sulzer offers both levels of service, with a swift overnight repair being used when the situation demands it.
