New machine filters out the problems

More success stories from the most diverse applications which partners Micromech Systems and Parker has been supporting for food processing equipment and packaging machinery manufacturers. Form, fill and seal machine for coffee pads. The strong demand for coffee pads required increased product output as these single portion sachets represent a convenient alternative to conventional filter coffee that have become very popular. As a result of this high demand from the market, coffee producers were on the lookout for even better machines with a much higher throughput. The production process is technically demanding, as the pads must be formed from a strip of fabric, precisely filled, sealed and punched out.

Increasing the efficiency of an IPM-based drive design with Vincotech’s new flowIPM-1B module

The ubiquitous Intelligent Power Module, aka IPM, has been a mainstay in motor speed control designs. And with good reason: Such designs are relatively easy and cheap to implement. With onboard gate drivers, protection, and a six pack IGBT array integrated, it takes very little engineering effort to quickly come up with an effective design. Utilizing a stamped lead frame, plastic package, and high-volume components, and given an automated production line, the IPM has all the ingredients necessary to manufacture a low-cost component solution.

Continued improvement and additions throughout their standard rotary solenoid range has prompted Geeplus to produce a new guide to the revised specifications and increased applications of their products.

Continued improvement and additions throughout their standard rotary solenoid range has prompted Geeplus to produce a new guide to the revised specifications and increased applications of their products.
The most important of the new characteristics are the extended angle of rotation up to 95°, a starting torque of up to 13Nm (gross starting torque at 20°C), an extended life time of up to >50 million cycles and extremely fast response time with switching times of < 5ms possible (depending on size and load)

For high performance in a tight integrated motion application, the KBM frameless brushless motor is the answer

Introduced by Micromech is the Kollmorgen new family of frameless, brushless motors derived from the proven and extensive portfolio of Kollmorgen designs. They are available in fourteen sizes for low or high voltage operation delivering torque, power and speed, within a cost-effective package and have a compact footprint. They give the system designer high flexibility in specifying a motor that fits the specific performance and dimensional requirements of the application but without incurring expensive engineering or other capital fees. Their advanced electromagnetic designs deliver maximum torque density which minimises required motor space envelope. They have extremely smooth rotation with minimal cogging, low total harmonic distortion (THD) and a broad operating speed range with rapid acceleration.

Efficient drive solutions from NORD complement IE2 and IE3 motors

Efficient drive solutions from NORD complement IE2 and IE3 motors
It is reckoned that more than two thirds of the total energy spend for industrial automation is consumed by electric drive technology and that an individual electric motor’s energy consumption makes up about 98% of its total cost of ownership over its average life. From these factors it is clear that investment in efficient drive technology is essential. The IEC60034-30 standard, making the IE2 energy efficiency class mandatory throughout Europe for a large number of electric motors from June this year, will begin to ensure reduced energy consumption on a global scale.
