Newport Releases NSA12 Actuator with CONEX-PP Controller
Newport Corporation releases its popular, compact NSA12 actuator with a new controller, the CONEX-PP. The CONEX-NSA12 is a miniature motorized linear actuator with an iPP stepper motor controller. The actuator features a reliable open loop stepper motor that provides 11 mm travel and can be used for loads up to 28 N. It offers a highly economical solution for motorizing mirror mounts, rotation stages, linear stages and other manual motion devices. Due to its compact size, the CONEX-NSA12 is ideal for space limited locations. A vacuum compatible version, the Conex-NSA12V6, is also available.
To prevent equipment damage from over-travel, the actuator includes a fixed, integrated minimum travel limit switch and a controller programmable soft limit for maximum travel. The NSA12 also features a non-rotating tip that prevents wear and avoids the periodic motion variations which can occur in other actuators with rotating tips. Furthermore, the actuator incorporates a mechanism that virtually eliminates backlash, which is crucial in applications like active beam alignment or optical tracking.

The supplied GUI can manage up to 4 daisy-chained CONEX-PP controllers or be launched several times for multi stage configurations with a USB hub.”
