Amsterdam gas and energy distributionAlliander's subsidiary Liandon has chosen Westermo's DDW-221 and DDW-100 Ethernet extenders to be part of the regulation, real time monitoring, alarms and flow measurement system of Amsterdam's gas and energy distribution network. In total Alliander has installed 6 DDW-221s and 280 DDW-100s to upgrade its gas distribution system into a modern, SCADA controlled and monitored communication system. 
Westermo enhances Wolverine range of Ethernet line extendersWestermo Data Communications has expanded and improved its Wolverine range of industrial Ethernet line extenders with the addition of the new DDW-225 and an enhanced version of the existing DDW-120. These rugged industrial products are part of Westermo's extensive range of Ethernet SHDSL extenders that are used to establish reliable long distance, high-speed remote connections between simple and complex Ethernet networks using any existing twisted pair copper cables. 
Lynx Switch Used in Military ApplicationWestermo Lynx switches are being used in the FALCON tactical communications systems being supplied to the MOD by a BAE Systems led team. Westermo has already received equipment orders in excess of £500,000 for shipment in 2009 with the estimated total order requirement for Ethernet Switches valued at greater than £3M over the duration of the project. 
Industrial Ethernet Routing Switch for Extreme EnvironmentsWestermo Data Communications, has released a range of high performance industrial Ethernet switches with enhanced routing functionality. The RedFox series is designed to build cost effective, secure and reliable networks that would previously have required several different units. 
Industrial 3G routers MRD-310 and MRD-330The new MRD-310 and MRD-330 are robust 3G routers designed for remote access across mobile networks. They provide a very high level of connectivity, and support many mobile standards including GSM, GPRS, 3G UMTS, HSDPA and HSUPA allowing uplink transfer rates of up to 2Mbit/s. Together with the rugged enclosure, DIN-rail mounting and an operating voltage range spanning from 10 VDC to 60 VDC, they are designed for industrial applications in harsh environments. Typical on board (train, trucks, etc.) or ground applications include video surveillance, SCADA/DNP3 telemetry systems and remote access to machines and devices. 
Time synchronized switches for electric power supervising systemELKOMTECH has chosen Westermo time synchronization R208 Ethernet switches to equip recently modernised substations within the network supervised by the Polish electric operator PSE. The network manages more than 1700 high voltage substation across the country. These distribute electricity to 35 million people and to many industrial operations – so high reliability is very important. Westermo's R208 switches deliver the highest time stamping accuracy on the market. In the PSE project, Elkomtech also equipped them with a specific redundant power supply. |
