A HPHT (high pressure-high temperature) KTK (Kintec) electrical connector for the efficient and safe transmission of power and data during the drilling process, VICTREX HT polymer has been used by Rampart Products. Used in oilfield equipment, the reliability of the multi-pin connector is crucial to reducing costly downtime. The material as well as the connector has been tested beyond industry standards in real-world environment simulations.

Victrex pipes for aircraft high-voltage cable conduit lines
To improve the overall fuel efficiency and reliability of their new commercial aircraft platform, the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC), selected VICTREX Pipes rather than metal tubing for use in high-voltage cable conduits. The new thermoplastic solution can deliver weight savings of up to 45% and is being supplied through the partnership of Beijing FeiHang Jida Aviation Technology Co., Ltd. and Victrex.

Cabin doors on the airbus a350 are lifting off with a primary structural component
Airbus Helicopters is replacing aluminum in a fitting in the aircraft door of the Airbus A350-900 with a high-modulus, carbon fiber-reinforced high performance polymer. The brackets, now manufactured from VICTREX PEEK 90HMF40, has been developed by Airbus Helicopters and is in serial production for commercial use after receiving the relevant component qualification. The successful substitution of metal has resulted in a 40% reduction in weight and costs. The injection-molded polymer solution replaces the higher cost manufacture of the bracket machined from an aluminum block.

Fusible-Core Technology Enables Design Of Complex, Victrex Peek Fuel Housings  To Improve Aircraft Fuel And Manufacturing Efficiency
In the manufacturing of complex fuel housings for the global aircraft industry, cost savings of more than 30% and weight savings of up to 50% can be achieved as opposed to existing metal designs. The efficient production, including part consolidation, is the result of Egmond Plastic, a leading injection molding specialist, combining their own fusible-core technology with a high performance PEEK polymer solution provided by Victrex. Carbon fiber reinforced grades of VICTREX PEEK polymer eliminate the use of a separate bearing, for example, since this is now integrated into the overall design of the housing.

Headquartered in Germany, Ensinger GmbH, a global specialist in the processing of high performance engineering polymers, obtains its supply of PEEK (polyetheretherketone) polymer from Victrex. VICTREX PEEK polymer is incorporated in its TECAPEEK series of stock shapes designed for use in challenging and extreme environments.

New Hybrid Molding Process And Material Innovations From Victrex  Delivers Next-Generation Aerospace Solutions
Victrex has developed a new PAEK-based polymer and an innovative hybrid molding technology. This allows engineers to overmold a PAEK-based composite with fiber-reinforced VICTREX PEEK injection molding materials. The polymeric advancement allows engineers to design stronger, lower cost components that are up to 60% lighter than typical metal and thermoset systems. By working together, Victrex and Tri-Mack Plastics Manufacturing Corp. have engineered an aerospace bracket using this new polymer and technique with the demanding performance requirements of loaded applications in mind.

Victrex announces new plant for early 2015

Victrex has announced plans to increase production capacity by around 70% for its VICTREX PAEK polymers reflecting confidence in the growth potential for global demand across a wide and growing range of applications in the transport, industrial and electronics sectors. This new capacity will add 2,900 metric tonnes of polymer output annually and will come on stream in early 2015. Total annual production of VICTREX PAEK polymers after completion will then stand at more than 7,000 MT per annum, an increase of around 70% on Victrex’s current capacity of 4,250 MT per annum.
