Considering environmental challenges for chain performance

Considering environmental challenges for chain performance
Modern Engineering maintenance planning is a marathon not a sprint, so MRO (maintenance, repair, overhaul) specialists are looking for long term reliability rather than a quick fix. Application environment is a key factor in selecting an adequate long term solution, especially for a transmission component like a chain.  Author: Derek Mack, Sales Director for Tsubaki UK.

Following the links of the total cost of life for chain

Following the links of the total cost of life for chain
Specifying higher quality mechanical power transmission products usually comes with a price premium. Plant engineers and machine designers are advised to look at the ‘total cost of ownership’ rather than the purchase price when buying components such as transmission chain.

Chain of innovations can help place you at the forefront of technology

Chain of innovations can help place you at the forefront of technology
Seeing the real-world effects of technological innovation is clear to some MRO professionals but not to all of us. In some instances this can lead to reduced working pressures, while in others they can be left to (literally) pick up the pieces. Over many years, chain maker Tsubaki has consistently worked to improve the life of MRO professionals. Its chain offers improved performance and reliability in most industrial applications; over 100 years it’s produced a stream of innovations that regularly reset the benchmarks for the technology.

Colour-coded chain wear indicator cuts unexpected breakdowns

Colour-coded chain wear indicator cuts unexpected breakdowns
Now available from Tsubakimoto Europe, the new wear indicators are for both BS (British Standard RF06B to RS16B) and ANSI (American National Standards Institute RS35 to RS80) chain. These handy and easy to use indicators are designed to measure roller chain condition and determine their level of wear. In use, one end is shaped to fit flush to a roller while the tip of the other end indicates the degree of wear by highlighting the total elongation over a number of links.

Chains that can offer added value and reliability

Chains that can offer added value and reliability
Ever heard that saying, ‘you get what you pay for’? Well it can be applied to many situations, especially to industrial chain, which often has to work hard in tough environmental conditions. While there are many budget chains available on the market, they are likely to wear more quickly – leading to higher maintenance costs and a greater chance of unplanned down-time.

Free flow conveyor stops friction

Free flow conveyor stops friction
Downtime caused by friction wear on conveyors has almost completely been eliminated by a car manufacturing plant in France, thanks to the installation of Tsubaki Double Plus free flow chain. The robust rollers are resistant to wear, even when a high degree of friction is generated as the crates, which carry small parts through the factory, accumulate on the conveyor.
