Ruland has expanded its offering of threaded shaft collars by adding inch and metric left hand threaded styles to give designers more flexibility to work with standard off the shelf components. They are available in one and two piece clamp styles in steel and stainless steel with bore sizes ranging from 0.2 to 2.25” and four to 30mm.

  One of the most common industrial applications are mixers, as they feature a motor coupled to a paddle or propeller. While the connection is simple, mixers can be used in chemical, food, paint, adhesive and other industries complicating coupling selection.

A new line of mountable shaft collars with flats and tapped holes or tapped holes only in the outer diameter, have been released by Ruland, which allow for easy mounting of shaft collars to each other or adjacent assemblies. Clamp style designs are used allowing for benefits such as not marring the shaft, indefinite adjustability, and high holding power.

With a balanced design and accommodating all forms of misalignment, the Ruland zero-backlash jaw couplings have a high dampening capability, making them a suitable fit for precision conveyors with frequent starts and stops. These conveyor applications are often found on equipment used in semiconductor, solar, optical inspection, and medical automation. Offering over 2,500 standard shaft collars, Ruland Manufacturing aims to match the varied needs of machine tool manufacturers. Machine tool manufacturers require round bore, threaded, and bearing locknut type shaft collars to meet the diverse needs of mills, lathes, bar feeders, coilers and other CNC controlled equipment. 

Ruland Manufacturing presents Oldham couplings for actuator driven systems. The Oldham couplings are zero-backlash, have a balanced design, and high parallel misalignment capabilities, making them a suitable fit for screw driven actuator applications. The three-piece design allows designers to easily couple an actuator and motor that have keyed or keyless shafts with inch or metric bores.

The line of rigid couplings from Ruland has been expanded to include metric sizes with step bores. Giving equipment manufacturers designing precision servo driven systems or shaft-to-shaft connections a wider range of standard in-stock products to choose from, these couplings are available in one- and two-piece clamp styles with or without keyways for superior fit and holding power.

Ruland beam couplings are designed to couple stepper and servo motors to encoders, lead screws, and light duty actuators in a variety of industries. They are zero-backlash, have high torsional stiffness, accommodate all forms of misalignment and have a balanced design creating a highly accurate and flexible coupling.

Oldham couplings from Ruland are zero-backlash, have a balanced design, accommodate large parallel misalignment, and are highly versatile, making them an ideal fit for precise positioning and general industrial conveyor systems. They also facilitate easy disassembly of rollers to allow for cleaning, replacement and general maintenance.

Encoders often require a custom shaft collar to meet their size and performance requirements. Ruland has designed thin line shaft collars with a narrow profile and reduced weight to meet the requirements of encoder applications in a standard product line.

Ruland beam couplings are zero backlash, have high torsional stiffness and accommodate misalignment, making them well suited for encoder, tachometer, and light duty power transmission applications commonly found in medical equipment. Ruland Manufacturing unveils P and MW Series beam couplings offer high misalignment capabilities with low bearing loads. Ruland has developed a new shaft collar for high pressure washdown applications. Washdown shaft collars are a patent pending design containing a 303 stainless steel shaft collar, male and female shrouds made from FDA compliant materials, and three O-rings with FDA compliant lubrication. They are ideally suited for highly corrosive washdown applications found in food processing, packaging, and medical industries.

Ruland Manufacturing has expanded its quick clamping shaft collar line to accommodate sizes up to 3 inches and 75 mm. They are designed for light duty stationary or low-RPM applications that require quick positioning adjustments or frequent set up changes where the use of tools is not practical.
