Kemppi’s ArcQuality convinces Outotec
Outotec has installed an ArcQuality Welding Quality Management System from Finnish welding equipment manufacturer Kemppi Oy for its welding operations in their Turula engineering workshop. Outotec is also planning to expand the use of ArcQuality to its other workshops. Plant Director, Ilkka Hiltunen says that quality control for welding is a key part of the workshop’s activities. “It is easier to improve the quality when production is in one’s own hands. ArcQuality is a modern, up-to-date way of ensuring quality control.”

The Williams F1 Team and Kemppi announce upgraded sponsorship agreement
The Williams F1 Team is pleased to announce that it has signed an upgraded partnership with Kemppi, a world-leader in the manufacture of welding equipment. Kemppi first joined the Williams F1 Team’s portfolio of partners in April 2012. This upgraded agreement will see the Kemppi logo positioned on the front wing endplate of the Williams Renault FW35 and the sleeve of the drivers’ overalls and team apparel.

Kemppi OY is introducing a brand new advanced and innovative welding quality management system designed to monitor MIG/MAG and TIG welding operations. Called Kemppi Arc System 2.0 – ArcQuality, it is available through Kemppi UK . Until now many welding projects undertaken in fabrication industries have had minimal qualitative proof that the welding was completed using approved parameters, filler materials and qualified personnel, so the one question being asked is how much do fabricators really know about the quality of their welded components.

Kemppi’s revenues over 120 million euros

Kemppi Oy, grew in 2012 to reach 121 million euros (+10,4 %) and profit (EBIT) reached almost 20 million euros. The business grew particulary well in the developing markets, whilst demand for equipment remaining stable in the traditional markets of Scandinavia and Europe.

MasterTig LT 250 is a new, light weight (12.6kg), air cooled, electronic TIG/MMA welding power source from Kemppi UK Ltd that requires no control and mains voltage power cables as it is powered by a 35 mm diameter connection cable from any single parent DC welding power source including mobile welding generators, MIG/MAG and MMA machines with a minimum of 40V. pole voltage.

Welding equipment manufacturers, Kemppi has launched MagTrac F61, a new easy to operate, magnetic carriage unit that is a fast and economic way of changing from manual MIG/MAG welding to productive mechanisation. It is designed to improve welding productivity through mechanisation in shipyards and the offshore industry, chemical and process industries, large steel structure fabrication and other larger fabrication shops by simply connecting it to Kemppi’s semi-automatic FastMig KMS Synergic and FastMig Pulse 350/450 MIG/MAG welding systems.

Kemppi Launches A Series Of New Welder Training Courses

Kemppi has started a series of bespoke welder training course at their UK headquarters in Bedford. These courses which are designed to train attendees in line with BS 47872 pt 1 include basic health and safety when welding, welding process theory, identification and uses of different materials, testing methods and practical tuition covering MIG/MAG welding, TIG welding and MMA welding.

Kemppi Supersnakes Weld Their Way Through Aircraft Carrier's Flight Deck
Established in 1824, Cammell Laird Shiprepairers and Shipbuilders Ltd, Birkenhead, has a long and proud history on the banks of the River Mersey including the building of RMS Mauretania in 1938 and HMS Ark Royal in 1936, an aircraft carrier of World War Two fame. As one walks through the gates to-day, the yard and shipbuilding has changed considerably but you still get a feel for its history and a huge abundance of new enthusiasm and pride from the top to the bottom. The yard specialises in commercial repair, conversion, heavy fabrication and military refit projects, then in 2010 shipbuilding returned, when Cammell Laird received a £44m contract to build two 12m. high sections of the middle and aft flight deck for HMS Queen Elizabeth, the new 65,000 tonnes aircraft carrier being built by the Aircraft Carrier Alliance for the Royal Navy.
