  It has been revealed in in a new report from the IHS Markit/CIPS Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) that we are in the biggest decline in the manufacturing sector in two years. The index showed that the manufacturing sector fell to 51.1 this October, down from 53.6 in September.

ABB to acquire GE Industrial Solutions
Supplier of robotics, process automation, and electrification components, ABB, has announced its intent to acquire GE Industrial Solutions for $2.6bn. This follows its recent acquisition of B&R Automation, an industrial software and automation hardware company, which added established product lines in PLCs, industrial PCs, I/O modules, servo drives, and servo motors to the ABB portfolio.

In 2016, the estimated worth of the world market for generator sets was approximately $13.8bn. In 2017, revenue is forecast to decline approximately 3.6%. Generator sets market to see long-term growth

Being very temperamental in recent years is the global market for generator sets, used for backup and onsite power generation. 2015 for most suppliers was a difficult year, due to weak demand resulting from falling oil and commodity prices. Increased competition and overcapacity further contributed to a 12.6% decline in global generator set revenue in 2015, from $17.9bn in 2014 to $15.7bn in 2015.
