High density pneumatic valve island reduces installation costs
A major update to the ASCO Numatics G3 Series electronic valve island platform has been announced by Emerson, which enables a reduction in installation costs. The valve island has been expanded so that it can control up to 128 solenoid valves on a single valve island assembly. This allows more valves to be controlled from a single node, enabling savings in the number of nodes and the cabling, internal tubing and electrical connections in the cabinet.

Valves comply with forthcoming regulations for marine industry
The DNV-GL approval has been granted to Emerson for its ASCO 551 and 553 series solenoid valves. This means that the valves comply with the soon-to-be-introduced (September 2017) worldwide regulations for ballast water treatment.  From this date, all valves used for treating and managing ballast water aboard ships must comply with the new standard.

US Company in the supply of complete electrical packages for oil rig cranes is using Control Techniques AC/DC drives as part of a landmark $500,000 order involving the upgrade of ten LeTourneau cranes. Three cranes have already been completed with no reported down-time in the first 18 months of operation, whereas prior to the upgrade, maintenance would be required on a weekly or even daily basis in some instances.

A leading coil processing equipment manufacturer has introduced variable speed drives from Control Techniques, an Emerson business.  Athader, based near San Sebastian in northern Spain, manufactures coil processing lines, mainly slitting lines and levelling and cut-to-length lines for steel, stainless steel and aluminium material. Equipment manufactured by the company, which is part of the Bradbury Group, is destined for customers that include steel coil processors, rolling mills and profile and tube manufacturers, 80% of which are located outside of Spain.

Emak Fan Industries has chosen a modular, dedicated motor and drive solution from Emerson for its latest smoke extraction fan project. Switching from another supplier, Emak´s selection of a modular Powerdrive F300 from Control Techniques and a dedicated smoke extraction motor from Leroy-Somer (both Emerson Industrial Automation companies), was based on »reliable and robust» product design attributes and fast delivery performance.Established in 1968, Emak manufactures mainly smoke extraction fans for metro railways systems, road tunnels, underground car parks , any other location where the accumulation of smoke or fumes could pose a risk to health and also manufactures various types of industrial fans including exproof type and marine type fans.
