Adding a new generation of hygienic pressure sensors in the PP20H family, Baumer is closing a gap in its portfolio and offering an attractively-priced solution for demanding hygienic applications. The sensor has a robust, IP69K-rated stainless steel housing which is designed to handle a variety of applications, and is equipped with a condensate-proof silicon measuring cell. 

Manufacturer and developer of sensors, encoders, measuring instruments and components for automated image-processing, Baumer, has announced the immediate availability of LBFH and LBFI level switches with IO-Link and ATEX approval. The IO-Link interface allows the user to automate the configuration of sensors. The inclusion of ATEX also enables the use of commercially available barriers. The sensors are suitable for hygienic and industrial applications.

In quality control applications, the measurement of object height is an extremely important aspect. With the PosCon HM light-section sensor, Baumer offers a compact measuring device for this kind of tasks. The smart, pre-configured profile sensor offers five measurement modes for different measurement tasks. An exact positioning of the measured objects is not required.

The CleverLevel series from Baumer has been expanded with two new variants, the LBFH and LBFI. They are available with two switching outputs, qTeach and a 360° output status indicator. In the same way as their predecessors the level switches are based on frequency deviation technology and are suitable for both hygiene and industrial applications. The level switches offer various programming options to suit different requirements.

Linearised calibration curves and very low standard dispersion rates are the reason that the distance-measuring inductive sensors IR08, IR12 and IR18 from the Baumer AlphaProx family offer easy and reasonably priced analysis of the measurement results without any additional cost or effort for programming.

A future with a building in Stockach on Lake Constance, South Germany is an investment being made by sensor company Baumer and will be situated at the Stockach – Bodman-Ludwigshafen site. In addition to a central logistics centre for Europe, a new high-tech centre for Research and Development and Production is being built.

Baumer presents an innovative and compact sensor for measurement of demanding surfaces. The new multi-spot MESAX laser distance sensor is immediately ready-to-use and provides accurate and repeatable measurement results, without elaborate conversion or external software.

The TER8 compact temperature sensor based on RTD technology is especially designed for applications with demanding requirements on measuring accuracy and stringent hygienic standards. It is available both for front flush installation and in two variants with an immersion sleeve. With all wetted parts fully made of PEEK, TER8 stands out from products currently available on the market.Based on the TE2 series, TER8 adopts the proven mechanical and electromechanical properties of this product family. The compact TER8 sensor housing fits even into tight spots difficult to access.

The popular CleverLevel series by Baumer now includes another five LBFS product variants. The world´s most compact level switch based on frequency sweep technology now includes a cooling neck for high temperature applications, a long version for improved level detection in bulk media and with a process connection compliant to US and Far East standards.The new LBFS product variants offer outstanding convenience in the application, are maintenance-free and ensure particularly solid performance in level detection. They now endure long-term temperatures up to 200°C (variant-specific) which provides additional benefits in demanding hygiene applications as in food and beverage as well as in the pharmaceutical and chemical industry. Thanks to their high-temperature capabilities, the CleverLevel LBFS sensors improve process safety with maximum service life even under extreme conditions.

The new performance class category in optical sensor technology, the O500 series by Baumer, combines the most important properties that a sensor could offer: durability as well as safe and easy operation. The O500 series is setting new standards particularly due to the ease of operation.

Modern machines and plants are becoming more and more complex. Keeping track of things so you can react appropriately at just the right moment is not always easy. Although all measuring values, status messages, interference signals or exceeded limits are collected in a central location, immediate recognition of situations calling for a fast reaction can be expedient not only in the control center but also on site.

Baumer´s CleverLevel series LBFS/LFFS switch stands out not only by its reliability. Used in conjunction with the optional configuration software FlexProgrammer, CleverLevel offers a great potential for use in a wide range of applications. Even more complex tasks can be completed very easily, and frequency deviation technology extends CleverLevel's application areas far beyond simple filling level monitoring.

Baumer is taking functionality, safety and flexibility in process instrumentation to a whole new level with its new CombiSeries. The first two models in this new series, namely the CombiPress pressure transmitter and the CombiTemp temperature gauge are already available for the market. Both products can be combined with the new CombiView display generation and thus provide maximum customer benefit.

Baumer’s multi-purpose LBFS level switch is now available in three different ATEX configurations which enable safe level detection in explosive gaseous and dusty atmospheres, typically found in the chemical, pharmaceutical, or food industries. Baumer uses a highly specialised protective design for the ATEX versions of the LBFS. Thanks to this, versions Ex ta for dust (zones 20, 21, and 22) and Ex nA for gas (zone 2) can be used without a Zener barrier because the housing itself already provides all the necessary protection. This is very cost-effective because usually all sensors for hazardous areas require a Zener barrier. The ATEX certifications cover zones 0, 1, and 2 (gas) as well as zones 20, 21, and 22 (dust). Quick installation and ease of use is also ensured for version Ex ia for gas (zones 0 and 1). . With the bridge amplifier DABU/I AD2T, Baumer offers a fail-safe force measuring amplifier for use in challenging industrial environments. The bridge amplifier has an analogue signal path and converts mV/V signals from bridge circuits with strain gauges into a voltage or current (version DABU/DABI) signal. Depending on the type of product, a 2x¼ bridge or a full bridge can be connected to the input of the amplifier. The DABU/I AD2T boasts a bandwidth of 1000 Hz and an excellent signal-to-noise ratio. Its wide tare level of ± 6 mV/V allows for safe and easy implementation of the measuring chain even under difficult assembly conditions. The tare function can be triggered by a control pulse and only takes 5 ms to complete its operation. The amplifier has an input signal range from 0.25…2 mv/V.

December 8, 2010. With the strain ring series DSRC, Baumer offers flexible solutions for measuring cyclical processes such as tension, compression, and torque. The strain rings offer a good repeatability of 0.1 per cent F.S. Based on the patented STRAIN-MATE principle, the measuring elements of the sensor invariably function in the force shunt circuit, so the sensors cannot be overloaded. Due to their rugged mechanics, the strain rings of the DSRC series are practically indestructible and thus have a very long service life. As the rings can be screwed on, there is no need for surface preparation before installation. Compared to bonded sensors, this quick and easy installation saves significant amounts of time and money.

Baumer’s industrial pressure transmitter PBMN achieves maximum precision in measuring both low and high pressures by using different sensors. For pressures below 60 bar, a piezo-resistive silicon sensor is used. A metal thin-film sensor ideally suited for higher pressures is available for pressures over 60 bar. The robust PBMN pressure transmitter covers measuring ranges from -100…100 mbar to 0…1600 bar. It is available in three classes of accuracy: 0.1 % F.S., 0.25 % F.S., and 0.5 % F.S. Boasting a combined error of only < 0.4 % F.S., the sensor provides 0.1 % F.S. of long-term stability. The choice of output signals includes 4…20 mA as well as several types of voltage. With its wide measuring range and high overpressure resistance, the PBMN is qualified for a very broad spectrum of applications. The PMBN is easy to configure using Baumer’s programming device FlexProgrammer 9701.

With the high-precision load cells of the DLRx series, Baumer offers sensors with passive temperature compensation for direct force measurement which boast a very low temperature effect of only < 0.005 %/K. Their high precision and positioning accuracy is supported by their very small amount of distortion. Complying with protection class IP67, they are suitable for use in the packaging industry, mechanical engineering, and many other industrial applications. The sensors cover measuring ranges from 0…+/- 500 kN with a combined error of only < 0.1 % F.S. and repeat accuracy of < 0.03 % F.S.
