Halve machinery breakdowns with latest SKF alignment tools
SKF, has enhanced its range of shaft alignment tools with the introduction of two new models that harness the power of lasers to achieve pin-point accuracy. Designed for ease of use, the new TKSA series includes the competitively priced TKSA 20 and TKSA 40 that can help cut machinery breakdowns by up to 50%, ultimately leading to improved machine reliability and performance, as well as increased productivity and profitability.
Equally importantly, the correct alignment of shafts, in both horizontal and vertical alignments, helps to extend bearing and shaft service life in many applications, including coupled shafts, pumps, motors, mixers, gearboxes and compressors. This provides greater return on investments, while considerably reducing energy consumption, vibration and noise, and reducing the stress placed on couplings and seals.

By comparison with traditional methods of shaft alignment, the new TKSA devices mean that technicians can easily and accurately align shafts in only a fraction of the time than was previously possible. Both the TKSA 20 and TKSA 40 display real time configuration values, allowing the results of alignment corrections to be seen as they are being performed.

In particular, the TKSA 20 is exceptionally quick and simple to use and requires no training for personnel to operate. Additional calculations are no longer required to make any necessary adjustments, as the device gives clear real-time coupling and feet values throughout the alignment process.

For applications requiring a greater degree of functionality and feedback, the TKSA 40 allows alignment results to be stored, shared and downloaded to a PC via a USB connection. This innovative model features an animated graphical interface on a 4 inch back-lit screen and alphanumeric key functions, while pre and user definable tolerance tables simplify alignment analysis still further.

Both models offer a soft foot function to establish if machinery is standing evenly on all feet, while laser lines and scales enable the rapid pre-alignment of grossly misaligned machines.

Designed for universal use, these latest alignment tools feature language free menus and user selectable measurement units. Furthermore, a quick start guide and intuitive menus allows any technician to quickly become familiar with the process.
