Visitors to the stand will learn that Atlas Copco’s ZR 56-750 Carbon Zero range of oil-free compressors, with built in energy recovery systems, was certified ‘net zero consumption’ resulting from independent tests supervised by the TÜV Institute.
The Carbon Zero innovation provides effective heat transfer within specific design conditions so that a considerable proportion of electrical power input can be recovered in the form of hot water at 90°C. The breakthrough has been made possible by a combination of technological advances in high efficiency components, heat exchangers, compressor elements and integrated VSD drives.
Also demonstrated on the stand will be the performance and energy savings from Atlas Copco’s redesigned, smallest oil-injected screw compressor range – the GA 5-11/GA 5-15 VSD. The product of the most advanced development techniques, this latest range offers a host of innovative features: a new-generation compression element, an 8% increase in air delivery - with consequent power savings, noise-levels as low as 60 dB(A), new VSD voltage variants, and a new Elektronikon® controller to optimise performance.
The hardware on display at The Energy Event will include the latest additions to Atlas Copco Compressors’ family of energy-efficient FD refrigerant dryers. With advanced control and monitoring, not only do these space-saving, easily-installed units offer constant dry air at any time, but they feature the ability to reduce energy costs significantly by adjusting the working cycle to the actual load, whatever the equipment capacity. The dryers’ integrated saver cycle control is a unique algorithm based on relative humidity that controls the start/ stop function of the dryer’s compressor.
Other major attractions on the stand designed to keep compressed air systems operating at peak efficiency are Atlas Copco’s free Health Check service, AIRScan™ - a highly accurate, independent airnet survey report system designed to pinpoint any energy drains, and AIRConnect™ - an automated 24/7 Internet-based remote monitoring system for multiple stationary compressor installations that is designed to monitor, measure and manage an entire compressed air network to help improve productivity.
Free compressed air energy saving CD
To help compressed air system users fight rising cost, visitors to the stand can also receive a free, completely revised and updated edition of Atlas Copco Compressors’ energy-savings CD, the ‘Definitive Guide to Compressed Air Energy Savings’. The CD presents all that a company needs to know about variable speed drive compressors, electronic controllers, leak detection and control, AIRScan surveys, air management surveys, money-saving preventative maintenance programmes, and much more – such as compressor sizing, energy recovery methods and air treatment, where considerable energy savings can be made with today’s ultra-efficient air dryers.
