Parker Domnick Hunter Awarded Ninth Prestigious Queen’s Award For Enterprise
Parker domnick hunter has been presented its Queen’s Award for Enterprise 2010 in a prestigious ceremony at its Gateshead headquarters. Lord Lieutenant Nigel Sherlock OBE, presented the company with the esteemed award in the International Trade category, recognising Parker domnick hunter’s success in developing new export markets for its ranges of gas separation technologies, including the MAXIGAS nitrogen generation systems.
The Mayor of Gateshead, Mayor Michael Hood attended along with local leaders of industry, key suppliers and international trading partners of Parker domnick hunter. Also in attendance were members of the press including journalists from the industry’s leading publications.

Parker domnick hunter’s General Manager, Derek Turnbull, said, “The event was a huge success and it was great to have so many influential figures there to witness this achievement, which recognises the exceptional efforts of our staff throughout our global sales and support network.”

“This is now our ninth Queen’s Award success and it is perhaps our greatest to date, as it pays testament to the strength of our technical and business development capabilities, while recognising our long term global export strategy and ongoing commitment to manufacturing in the UK.”

Vital to this success has been the development of the MAXIGAS range of gas separation technologies. In particular, the compact, modular and self-contained MAXIGAS system represents a considerable advance in industrial scale nitrogen generation. Most critically, it provides businesses with an economical and practical method of generating their own nitrogen on site, from a conventional supply of compressed air. This high performance and energy efficient system produces nitrogen on demand and eliminates the need for traditional gas bottles and bulk storage facilities, which are costly, present health and safety issues and typically involve frequent freight movements.

The MAXIGAS concept is now widely accepted by key growth sectors within the industrial gas marketplace, where users demand high specification nitrogen gas at a significantly lower cost than alternative supplies. Geographically, this includes widespread adoption throughout all European Union countries, Asia, Russia, the Middle East, the Americas, Turkey and India.

Derek Turnbull concludes, “The MAXIGAS technology represents significant long term potential for Parker domnick hunter in many key growth markets globally, providing us with opportunities to develop solutions that offer our customers real improvements in productivity and profitability. It is this ability to introduce technologies that add value to our customers, when combined with our market development, support skills and resources, as well as the dynamism and innovation synonymous with the Parker Hannifin brand, that has now been recognised by the Queen’s Award for Enterprise”.
