Motion Control Products catalogue supports integrated industry

Releasing the latest Motion Control Products catalogue, Parker Hannifin, is providing the essential guide for engineering and manufacturing businesses features the industry’s latest servo drive, motor, planetary gearbox and controller products. The new catalogue is available as a download or can be requested as a hard copy resource.

Parker Hannifin offers servo drive units to suit a wide range of applications including factory automation, automotive, food and beverage, pharmaceutical, packaging machinery, materials handling, printing and textile machinery. The company’s portfolio encompasses intelligent, compact, multi-axis, integrated, decentralised and flexible servo drives.

Among the newly-added servo drives in the latest catalogue is the PSD single- and multi-axis series, which is available with power ratings from 2-30A, and different form factors. The offering includes the PSD1-S as a stand-alone drive which can be connected directly to the main supply, along with the PSD1-M, a multi-axis servo system where each axis module can supply up to three servo motors.

The latter is particularly suitable for centralised automation systems, such as those found in many packaging machines where large numbers of drives are often required.

A further new addition to the servo drive section is the Servonet DC decentralised double-axis series. With its robust IP67 housing, these drives can be used in challenging environments outside the cabinet and close to the motor.

Parker Hannifin’s new Motion Control Products catalogue also details its extensive motor offer. This includes the latest servo, spindle and brushless motors featuring a range of different attributes, such as low inertia, low cogging, high speed, explosion-proof and many more.

In addition, information is presented on the company’s frameless servomotors which allow the complete integration of the permanent magnets to give a simplified mechanical system that delivers a more accurate, robust and reliable solution versus traditional methods.

Readers of the catalogue will also find a useful section on planetary gearboxes that features Parker Hannifin’s entry tier and precision series. Added to these in the latest edition is the new GXA range of ATEX gearboxes for use in hazardous areas. Here, precision helical gearing offers smooth and quiet operation for the most demanding high-performance applications.

Finally, the catalogue features a comprehensive section on controller products, including the Interact Xpress HMI and, now, the company’s PAC (Parker Automation Controller). The powerful, integrated, EtherCAT-based PAC is an enabling technology that allows customers to prepare production equipment for Industry 4.0.

To meet the need for higher flexibility and to maximise overall equipment effectiveness, production processes need to automatically adjust to changing demand, which requires intelligent devices talking to each other in real-time and a controller platform that acts as a central hub to enable seamless bi-directional communication from the enterprise network down to the individual actuator. Ultimately, the PAC supports an integrated industry approach that allows customer requirements to be met in a resource-efficient way.
