Elesa Panel Support Clamp judged PPMA “Most Innovative Auxiliary Equipment”

The judges were impressed with Elesa’s panel support clamp, stating that “whilst it appears to be quite a modest item compared with some other submissions, it solves a lot of problems with the fitting – and especially the repair and retro-fit – of safety guards”. They also liked the fact that the clamp is applicable to guarding situations in all industries.

The Elesa Panel Support Clamp enables easy installation of protective panels onto industrial frames in steel or aluminium as desired. It incorporates full component retention when open, as required by Machine Directive (2006/42/CE), plus rubber grip pads to ensure stable location without drilling of the panel. Panel installation with PC Panel Support Clamps requires only that the correct spacer be fitted to match the relevant panel thickness and then the hex keyed screw (M6) be tightened up – the positive grip characteristics of the clamp plus its method of fixing then ensure a secure fixing of the guard panel.

In what was an extremely competitive year, with the highest amount of entries since the Awards were introduced, to make the shortlist in itself was considered a huge achievement, so to win the category was a wonderful recognition for Elesa’s innovative design of standard machine components.
