Electronic engineering brought to life for children

A team from TDK-Lambda UK helped bring electronics engineering to life for children and young adults at this year’s Big Bang Fair South West, announced TDK Corporation.

Held at Exeter University, the one-day event attracted 1,800 students looking to explore the possibility of following a career in a Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) related subjects.

“Many local businesses participated in the event to showcase their industry to students,” said Anne Sutton, Training and Development Officer at TDK-Lambda UK. “The interactive activities, live demonstrations and quizzes held during the event helped inspire young students, enabling them to discover how STEM school subjects can lead to fantastic, rewarding careers.”

The Big Bang is a national programme that celebrates STEM and incorporates the National Science and Engineering Competition (NSEC). TDK sponsored the award for the ‘STEM Club Best Project’ category as part of this, and TDK-Lambda UK’s Product Performance Manager, Alex Knill presented the award to Treviglas College for their winning entry entitled: Nature Gardens Power Generation.
